you do realize these are essentially the first generation of this class of drug, and the ones to follow will be much better, likely far cheaper, and probably not injected. Also, insulin is literally the same way.

a lot of medicines work this way 😭 it's almost like if you don't have a medicine in your system...it will probably stop affecting you. i don't see their point, genuinely

Yeah but healthy people don’t take insulin ur only prescribed that if you have like diabetes

i mean with GLP-1s the cost per month is quite high, but that’s because they’re a new drug, and we’re still working on how to make them cheap and how to make them oral

which really makes sense. plus healthcare costs typically run a bit high, it isn't a new concept and it def doesn't make the medicine bad 😭 honestly i think it will be a really cool accomplishment to create an oral alternative, i personally haven't seen that happen in real time before where i've paid attention but it's extremely cool and interesting how it has to change in certain ways but stay the same in others in order to be a viable oral alternative.

google type 1 diabetes, also kind of by definition medication is primarily prescribed to people with some sort of health concern

I don’t understand the complaint here, medicine is for people with health issues? the original post concerns a medication, which is prescribed to address health issues.
