Cost, needs, etc. also, some places do. It depends on the resources in your area. I built mine out of brick. Most houses in my area are the same.

Wood is much more available here due to a large lumber industry in the US and Canada. It is cheap and lightweight. In Europe, which was historically deforested, they have had to rely more heavily on stone, brick, and cement.

My house is brick and idk if I can ever move into a house that’s not brick 😭

It’s not even “wood” anymore. New construction around here is all “engineered wood” instead of dimensional lumber
