According to that definition I think it’s wrong. I would say that it’s “wack” in a lot of ways but I guess the most apparent ways would be that Mohammad “married” a 6 year old girl and consummated the marriage when she turned 9. He also used Jihad to become rich, he accumulated 7 wives (it’s listed in the Quran that men can have 4 wives but God told Mohammad that he specifically can have 7) and many sex slaves too. Yikyak limits my comment length but it’s a long rabbit hole

No I’m not saying that. For example, me and my Muslim friend agree on a lot of moral issues. He actually disagrees with Islam on certain things. It’s just, he has to ignore a lot of what Islam says about certain things because those things are immoral. I know some Muslims that say the stories in the Hadiths must be made up because Mohammad would never do the terrible things listed in there. Not all Muslims are the same, many are forced to ignore certain parts of Islam

However you did not respond to how it’s any different than the other two Abrahamic faiths of Judaism and Christianity, from my own research those seem to make appearances there too. It’s unfair to claim Islam is wack because of those things yet not say the same about Christianity or Judaism

Well, the reasons I listed for it being wack were linked to Mohammad. Judaism and Christianity do not revere Mohammad as a prophet so they don’t have the same problem. Actually, those 3 religions are extremely different. They don’t share the same Holy Books, the same traditions, they barely worship the same God. I’d say they have like 5% commonality shared between them and they differ with the rest of the 95%

Because of that I think Mohammad was a bad person. So then it follows that the religion he made will be one that I disagree with. There’s a lot wrong with Islam. you could say they’re taking a different interpretation but it really isn’t a different interpretation, it’s just disagreeing with Islam because they know it’s wrong. For example, the story in the Hadith where Mohammads 9 y/o wife cleans semen off of his robe is so detailed that in order to get around it, some muslims just say it’s not true. It’s hard to argue though when we have the receipts

I hope you know Hadiths are itself interpretions. Pdfiles will justify it by using a Hadith that is man made but there are plenty who disagree with the Hadith itself and say that that interpretation is wrong.

The post is about Islamophobia not about spreading nonsense bs claims you read on Reddit about Islam or Muslims. You are allowed to criticise politicised versions of Islam in countries which is a fundamentalist version. There are also plenty of countries where Muslims are the majority and don’t follow such versions. There are Muslims who are minorities in a lot of countries like India and Myanmar who are facing genocide because of politicised versions of Hindutva and Buddhist fundamentalism.

It’s a little difficult to misinterpret, right? That’s the issue, there are receipts on receipts. Those 3 statements are the tip of the iceberg. You should actually read this stuff before defending it. Read the Quran and you won’t be so quick to defend. I tried keeping an open mind but my friend gave me a Quran and I read it and it’s all sorts of messed up
