When you pay for a good or a service, only a fraction of that money is going to the actual laborer. (For example, college is expensive as fuck but the professors get shit pay) It’s essentially an administrative fee. You pay more cause someone came

Things don’t just spawn in. Someone has to get that thing to be where you have the ability to pay for it. That’s effort

I could pay the appropriate amount for the harvesting, packaging, transportation, and stocking of whatever grocery im gonna buy from target… i’m not okay with paying even more to some middle man because target simplified all those costs into one (and then jacked it up to make a profit)

Or with college, i’ll pay the professors for their time, and the fraction necessary for my use of energy (having the lights on in a classroom). Besides that, where else does the money actually deserve to go for that service

effort worth between 2-1000+ times what the product actually costs? and the way this administration fee is mandatory… you can’t get a degree by just paying professors

I believe hard work alone doesn’t get you rich. Getting rich requires intelligence as well

is it feasible to suggest that if everyone was smart and hard working enough, they could ALL obtain one of the few well paying career paths (businessman, doctor, lawyer etc) would society still function if every person put all their energy into this goal?

They couldn’t all do it, but most people don’t want to or won’t even try. People don’t like to put effort into things, especially when those things are hard to do
