Maybe it’s just me, but I find it frustrating how both the left and the right focus a disproportionate amount of time on fringe issues when we should be focusing more on cost of living and economic inequality.

Economic inequality is inherently tied to the other systems of oppression including homophobia and transphobia. Even if we were all prospering and there was no economic injustice that wouldn’t magically solve racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or misogyny. Injustice isn’t a fringe issue when you’re part of a minority group

I think much of the culture war is artificially constructed to distract us from issues that affect the bottom 90% of Americans. I’m not saying the culture war is not important. I’m just saying we spend too much time on it. There is a group of people at the top want us to fight each other to stay in power.
