Wym?? I’m saying how we treat kids is horrible. They don’t get a say in anything, they are subject to abuse and neglect in so many ways including religion. We should enact laws like Japan where if you tell a child they’re going to hell for doing/not doing something it’s tantamount to child abuse. And we need to scrap the idea of parental rights. You don’t have rights to your child you have responsibilities. The USA doesnt even recognize the UN rights of the child.

I would stop short of completely ‘scrapping parental rights’, especially given what the federal gov looks like right now, but otherwise totally agree. Indoctrinating your kids through fear is absolutely abusive. That being said I grew up with parents who emphasized my choice to be religious or not, I’m sorta curious what any ‘found religion as an adult’ folks have to say about this
