You might find this interesting but Saint Louis severed its city from its county long ago and might actually be worse off for it. They’re completely separate entities (governments, tax rates, services…etc). This happened when the city was thriving and didn’t want to pay for the suburban expansion but now that downtowns are emptying out the city is faced with plummeting tax revenue while the suburbs thrive. If they were still the same entity then the income from a prosperous county could help

Revitalize the city, but as it stands now nobody in the county wants that to happen. Sad to see a proud city somewhat abandoned by its suburban population

the native somalis are more deserving of the 1 billion dollars than americans, its their ancestral homeland. why can americans have 49 states and they cant even have one? just one small state?
