It goes beyond just enjoying trains too. Japan’s high speed railway doesn’t have a sonic boom when exiting tunnels, but that wasn’t always the case. Their bullet trains were HATED at first because they were extremely loud when exiting tunnels. The solution came from a guy who really liked birds, and he proposed to design the trains after the little guy pictured below, the Kingfisher!
Kingfishers are very aerodynamic and don’t make a splash when diving because of their long beaks! The design actually succeeded and bullet trains became way quieter when exiting tunnels! Autism comes in many forms, but whether it’s trains or birdwatching, it makes society much more fun and efficient :D
