Have you considered that the corporations of these incredibly wealthy countries produce most of their products in factories in poorer countries because it’s cheaper? Naturally that would mean the majority of the carbon footprints of many of these companies may not actually be found in the country in which these companies are based, no? Not to mention that it would also mean that these companies and countries continue to get richer quicker because they exploit poorer peoples for labor?

If the people that don’t care about the environment are the same people that control government, how are these regulations ever going to be passed…

More young people should vote for starters. But given that Climate change is a problem now, and some people (democrats) generally do care about it, I think it’s much more likely to have a positive impact by passing climate regulations in a capitalist system then trying to build a socialist system from the ground up

Consumption-based emissions accounts for emissions created by imported goods. Even when we account for outsourced emissions, emissions in the most capitalist countries are falling. Trade benefits both countries. Trade is in no way exploitation.

The democrats who are funded by the same people as the republicans? The democrats who are actively voting in support of flock cameras and data centers even when their ENTIRE districts are opposed? The democrats who have shown time and time again they care more about the elites than us? Who is passing these regulations my friend

The democrats who passed the Infrastructure bill with historic investments in public transport, and the inflation reduction act with environmental grants, EVs, clean energy, and more.

I think either democrats or republicans will be in power and democrats have shown actual willingness to pass environmental legislation
