Nobody is saying voting alone is going to fix anything. We’re saying that not voting at all is dumb asf. Do you understand the difference?

no fucking shit, hence why the single comment on the original post is regarding how “only voting” is also an approval (which I made that comment, and that’s why my post was posted RIGHT AFTER that comment) my point is that you cannot fight fascism from within fascism; which is why I never said not to vote.

like voting is the absolute bare minimum which will not make a meaningful change, we should all vote regardless just in case, but we should be fucking talking about the actual methods we can take to combat this shit outside of the status quo and existing institutions.

Dude I’m really not sure what your problem is then. The original post said ‘not voting is an issue’, which we both agree with. Then you misrepresented that in your response by acting like they thought voting alone would save us. I think you’re just responding to something you misread or misinterpreted

because implying that voting is a meaningful method of combatting the rise of fascism, is at best, naive. furthermore, as I stated, I specified “only voting”, hence why my post itself discussing the inability of the electoral system to save us. aka, why only voting is a bad thing. it sounds like you misinterpreted my remarks and are projecting that onto me instead, but whatever you say.

You replied to “not voting is tacit approval of the current admin” with some statement about how people are idiots if they think the election system is gonna save us. dude, I never said not to vote, and my post about the inability of the electoral system does not imply not to vote. furthermore, me addressing said inability of the electoral system is not advocating to not vote; it’s meant to advocate that we need to take other means to regain control of our nation. also, as I stated, my comment regarding “only voting” was in the initial post in question, not in mine, and not in yours. I said as much earlier.

That’s valid tbh, and in hindsight admittedly I got overly aggressive towards you and should’ve reined it in a bit during the initial discussion (I was arguing with some relentless white supremacists and I think I redirected some of that anger onto you, so I’m sorry for that) I likely should’ve put a disclaimer in my post, that I was the one who made that comment; but I can see why you said I was gaslighting considering you didn’t know I made that comment!
