Different redistricting rules. Tennessee just has to pass a vote. Virginia has to have a commission propose a referendum which gets voted on. Unfortunately they proposed that like 3 weeks like so their courts struck it down. They set themselves up for failure which such a complex system…

Yeah, red states generally have weaker voter protections, so there’s no legal ground to challenge the new districts.

Republicans are gonna regret this bullshit. Hell they even considered axing the filibuster. Trump took it waaaaaay too far. The reason you don’t shore up a castle in politics is that when the pendulum finally swings the other way: You. Are. Fucked. At the very least, no matter what they’re probably screwed in VA. NoVA won’t forget DOGE running wild nor will they forget the GOP essentially getting their vote thrown out here Add on the ongoing high gas, and this is probably a “Chris Paul hits a huge 3” kinda situation
