Ok the part where I do understand where they’re coming from is that those subsidies were supposed to be temporary. It was supposed to end after COVID. And I see some people making the point that this is just funneling money to health insurance companies who have been making record profits lately

However it’s pretty shitty to take people OFF of health insurance when they were previously on it. Arguably shittier than not giving it to them in the first place

Insurance companies shouldn’t even exist. Their entire business model is to avoid providing as much as possible of the service that you pay them to provide. It is by definition a scam. And fucking why are we paying taxes for the government to pay insurance companies to NOT pay for our healthcare bills?! Just fucking take my taxes and pay the doctors. I will HAPPILY pay more if I knew my health emergencies were covered no questions asked. It’s so fucking stupid
