I’m undecided on the VA redistricting, but it’s been fun seeing VA Republicans squirm over this lol. They had no problem with other (red) states doing it lmfao

In my opinion it’s just a shit situation all around, but I think on the core principle gerrymandering is wrong. If Texas has a demographic change and turns more blue then their representatives should reflect that, if VA turns more red it should reflect that too but this whole bullshit of let’s all play tit for tat and redistrict so my team wins while ignoring the actual make up of my state is stupid and undermines democracy

My main concern with the gerrymandering is that it will provoke a lot of backlash from VA republican voters (gerrymandering does not make them go away!), leading to a 2021-like situation in the 2027/29 elections
