I think what OP is trying to get at (and correct me if I’m wrong @OP) is that in protesting what ICE is doing (and it is wrong!) others are getting hurt. ICE may not be innocent, but the police, the national guard, the area damaged, etc. is innocent. Not saying that MAGA does have empathy, just that innocents are hurt

Empathy isn’t restrictive, that’s the whole concept, there isn’t much beyond that. Leftists always pout that they are empathetic but I’ve met some of the meanest and toxic people in that group.

You can’t quite quantify people being mean and toxic so that’s how personal experience becomes important. And what, leftists should stay being mean and toxic to certain groups of people? I believe all change that is positive is good, regardless of whether there is a worse offender, there will always be a worse offender.
