If you need the ramblings of some book written 2000 years ago and the fear of a figure that has not made himself physically present on the Earth in millennia to compel you to be a good person, you’re not a good person.
When the atheist who hates God tells me how a “real Christian” would act 👹

it’s pretty generally acknowledged people are bad at keeping themselves in check without moral guidelines and societal pressures in place

Yeah so let’s not mock people’s religions…. Do I think they were absolutely wrong for posting that? Yes. Do I think two wrongs make a right? Absolutely not. Jesus would definitely want people regardless of faith to point out inconsistencies in someone’s beliefs but that doesn’t make it ok to shame someone for their beliefs. Have a good one!

If the Bible is your idea of good “moral guidelines” you are morally bankrupt

Wanna find a source for that one? “Generally pretty acknowledged” doesn’t give me a lot of confidence that you’re not just sharing your opinion/anecdotal experience

Don't have to subscribe to some dumb institution to think we are all sinners

Sin was and is a term coined explicitly by people of the Christian faith to describe actions that do not align with the teachings of Christ. You may claim to not subscribe to the religion but it seems to deeply impact how you view the world and express your opinions
