it's actually hilarious that people make fun of china's social credit system as if we don't have the same exact fucking thing here 🤣🤣🤣

so many things that china does the us does as well they can quite literally put you on a terrorist watchlist and prevent you from flying anywhere without a warrant or probable cause

I would genuinely rather live with China’s social credit system than the American credit system based on our finances. Why? Because being poor shouldn’t stop me from having access to resources.

I think it sounds way scarier to us because we instantly compare it to the financial credit score that determines whether you can get a loan, car, or new credit card

fyi I think BOTH are wrong, but it's interesting how china has basically eliminated poverty, so they are doing some things right

people talk about how you're not allowed to buy a train ticket in china if you have low social credit, brother the us can put you on a "no fly list" for no reason and without you even knowing if they think you're acting against us interests

I know and it’s insane! The US is so much worse and yet we’re led to believe China is the bad guy

China still does have a financial credit system. It was previously run by private companies (just like ours) but the government oversees it now. The people’s bank of China used to just simply provide a report of your loan history. Only recently did they start offering a score as well too

Some cities apparently also put judgement debtors (something that commonly gets you blacklisted — court rules that you owe someone money and you still haven’t paid up) on blast and had an app with a map of “deadbeat debtors” 💀 That being said, I think my state has a public spreadsheet of people who are delinquent on taxes for multiple years and owe the state a decent bit of money

I’m sorry, what? If we use the World Bank’s numbers, 1-2% of the US is in poverty vs. ~13% of China. You’re thinking of Tier 1 cities like Shanghai, not rural China. Also, China has literal execution vans, is conducting a holocaust on a Muslim minority population, and regularly “disappears” anyone who dares challenge the CCP. So respectfully, I don’t think you actually know what you’re talking about when it comes to China…

I knew something felt wrong with that figure but I couldn’t find the data to substantiate it 💀

where did you get those numbers lmao, 3% of china's population is in poverty compared to 10% of the us population. also the us is literally executing people in the street right now. like I said, both countries suck but china undoubtedly has a superior economic system

https://www.bbc.com/news/56213271 That being said, idk how fair it is to use USD across all countries when $1 could be a lot or very little in another currency

nvm they have different levels depending on whether your country is considered upper-middle income, lower-middle income, etc
