No, thankfully not THAT bad. After 2 people presented about immigrant justice, this guy gave a nonsensical argument about how immigrants are responsible for making America “bad now” and we need to deport them all. He didn’t properly cite anything and his points were completely disconnected. Worth remembering that this was our CAPSTONE RESEARCH PRESENTATION required to graduate, not a freshman debate

Agreed! If you don’t know how to properly conduct a political science research project, in accordance with the scientific method, you shouldn’t get a degree in the field.

That’s terrifying. I think the issue is especially bad in political science, because some people treat it more like a humanities than a science, but there’s definitely an uptick of anti-intellectualism within academia. If you’re not willing to research, just major in communications

Like the girl from ou with the shit essay, genuinely one of the worst essays I’ve ever read. No citations or anything, kinda generally referred to the bible to call all her classmates stupid and demonic, and so on and so forth. Then when the teacher gave her a failing grade, she claimed it was discrimination bc the teacher was trans. Goes a lot deeper than that but that’s essentially the gist.
