The phrase “sky daddy” has to be the weirdest phrase people try and use to invalidate a viewpoint

Reddit atheists are genuinely the cringiest people alive

Agreed, but if God, Allah, Yahweh, Vishnu, Nirvana, Xenu, Cthulhu, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster are mentioned at all in restrictive legislation or political discussion, the viewpoint is invalid by default

Yeah it’s cringe. But also literally what religious people believe lmao. An omnipotent father who exists in the heavens lmao. I think it upsets people so much because you know it’s ridiculous

I think it’s a normal human reaction to find phrasing like this weak and in poor taste regardless of what the subject is

I find religion “in poor taste”

Multiple people can dislike 1st century myths actually lollll

No shit. The diction is crazy similar though. Hence why I asked

People who have a better education tend to write better. I didn’t get a degree in Sunday school 🤷‍♂️

Education should make your arguments better, not replace them

Faith without evidence literally replaces your “argument” my guy 💀

That’s a strawman. Simplifying it to ‘no evidence’ just avoids engaging with real arguments

There is quite literally as much “evidence” for whatever your particular religion is than any other. (None). If you’d like to provide some “evidence” I’d be happy to point out why it means nothing. There is zero testable or empirical evidence for any god

You’re really going to sit here and say you’re not the same guy that was losing his mind in the other chat? This is literally verbatim what he said

It tends to be the same argument all atheists make, which is that there is no evidence for any religion lmao. First time thinking about it?

That’s a pretty ironic line coming from someone repeating the most basic take possible

For such a basic take you’d think you’d have a counter argument, but for some reason religious people seem really stumped by the whole “prove it” line

You keep acting like it’s some advanced insight when it’s just your assumption about what counts as evidence

upvote 1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> OP 2w

It’s not an advanced insight at all, it’s pretty basic to not believe something you are told without proof. I’ve asked you to give me some convincing evidence and (shocker) I haven’t been given any. That’s because there is no reason to believe any religious myths. The same reason you don’t feel compelled to worship Zeus (because it’s ridiculous)

You’re very upset.

I think you are projecting, I’m having a great time! Why would I be upset you believe in some nonsense? I think it’s more likely you are offended that I think your core beliefs are ridiculous, and now you are having to actually examine them.

The need for absolute proof dissipates quite literally any belief or a scientific theory

I’ll cut to the chase bud, I can already tell you’re not intelligent enough to reveal anything to me that I haven’t heard a million times already and I probably won’t tell you anything that you haven’t heard a bunch either. By engaging in an argument with you, I’ll just end up dancing around in a circle that people have been debating for thousands of years and it’ll go absolutely nowhere and provide absolutely nothing concrete or valuable to anyone.

we will go in circles because you know there is no reasonably convincing evidence.

I’m not asking for absolute proof, I’m asking for any reasonable evidence at all, for which religion has none. There is plenty of reasonable evidence however for the evolution of life as a natural process.

Now you’re just making a bunch of assumptions and damaging your credibility. Go talk to a therapist or go outside or something. That sounds like the most productive route given where it seems like your headspace is at.

I just find it funny you think I’m upset, I asked for some evidence for silly claims and now it’s “go see a therapist” 😭🤣

If you’re not self aware that 9/10 people will look at how you’re framing things in this comment section and think you’re unwell I don’t know what to tell you. Take my advice. Talking to someone like a therapist is amazingly helpful regardless if you’re upset or not.

Hold on now I’m so genuinely curious, why is my framing of the argument indicative of needing therapy lmao? Please elaborate 🤭
