For years people were saying, “If we increase the minimum wage, businesses and corporations will start replacing humans with robots and machines.” Now we still have no minimum wage increase, and they’re replacing us with robots and machines
They also said prices would go up so much that no one would be able to afford anything and look at us now

No federal min wage bump, but plenty of states increased theirs, to reflect local costs, which seems like a valid approach

It’s literally $20 for fast food workers in CA. Taco Bell rolled out automated drive-thrus across the nation though and it was a mess 😭

As someone whose lived in several of those federal minimum wage states it is not livable in the slightest. Meaning this w/ respect seriously but relying on states to change minimum wage is a bit of a privileged position, you’re not the person going hungry in the meantime

I think something that would work is a federally mandated formula. Because you still can’t have TX, CA, or PA somehow set the minimum wage for Austin, LA, and Philly to be the same as the rural areas
