I already knew the country was racist, however seeing sooooooo many people view the words Charlie Kirk said as peaceful, loving, & Christ like is sickening.

He never said anything racist which is why you can’t prove he did

Or, maybe you’re misunderstanding what Kirk stood for and why people liked him.

So explain his remarks about being worried when he sees a Black pilot… since you are college educated I know that you know that no person on earth can just become a pilot without being well qualified. So why would he make that remark?

Sure. The issue he’s trying to draw attention to is race based diversity quotas. When a company demands a certain percentage of their employees look a certain way, it means unless they were already being biased against qualified black applicants, they would inevitably have to skip over qualified applicants to meet the quota. There in lies the issue that they would not be hiring the best for the job anymore.

Now, you and I can go back and forth on whether or not this is happening, or if the preexisting hiring process for pilots was racist or not. That’s a completely fair debate. However, I hope you can see that Kirk’s view is not a racist perspective, even if you don’t agree with the premise of it.

Unfortunately that doesn’t answer my question. Take race, gender, sexuality out of it. In order to be a pilot you have to be qualified. There is no DEI, Affirmative Action, quota, etc that can get you your pilots license. You surely understand that don’t you?

You have to meet minimum certification requirements, yes of course. That does not make you the best or safest pilot. And the further argument is that training programs would push through under-performing applicants in order to meet the quota demands. There’s no part of this argument that says black people are not just as capable of being the top pilots in the country. It’s purely about the focus of the training and hiring process being on anything other than skill.

I think its crazy that you are trying to justify the statement of second guessing a pilot’s qualifications simply because they are Black. That is insulting and honestly im done with this conversation. You are someone who probably calls themselves a Christian and are sitting here finding ways to justify this mans hate.

I’m not justifying it. I’m giving you the reason for his statement and explaining how it’s not a racist perspective. It’s a systemic issue with how we have gone about setting up hiring practices. Other countries do this so much better than we do with full blind hiring. For whatever reason we took the double down on racialized policies stance instead. Frankly, I find it offensive that you think black pilots aren’t able to become pilots without specialized programs.

When did I say that Black Pilots need special programs. I never said that. You are running with a narrative that its ok to question a Black pilots abilities. You are saying its not a racist perspective yet it quite literally is. You are saying regardless of the airline, region, or years of experience, its not a racist thought process to automatically assume a pilot isn’t qualified simply because you look at them and see they are Black?!?!? Are you crazy

Airline and region are not really a factor in national certification. And we’re assuming you don’t know how long that person has been a pilot. Let’s try this. If the bus driver training program had an explicit goal to increase the number of blond haired employees they have to 30%, and then you start seeing more blond haired bus drivers, would you not have a bit of worried that this bus driver was selected just to meet that 30% goal? And if so, would that mean you hate blond hair all of a sudden

To answer your question I would not simply because you are clearly underestimating how many tests, certifications, shadowing, etc it takes to get your pilots license. But this argument is pointless. Whenever I go to the doctor, get on a plane, go to a five star restaurant , whatever the case may be im not automatically assuming anyone is unqualified or only got there because of their skin. White, Black, Brown, etc, people work hard, & its very shitty when people like you try to belittle that.

The argument is not belittling people for working hard. It’s pointing out a systemic issue we have solutions for. I understand where you are coming from. Judging anyone based on the color of their skin is wrong. We all can agree on that. Kirk would argue that’s also wrong when hiring teams choose to do it as well. He just believes in one less race based judgement.

Listen Charlie Kirk has said several times that Black people are less qualified. His comments on Pilots, customer service workers, even Michelle Obama, have all been extremely racist. I get you like Charlie Kirk, mourn him and genuinely im sorry for your loss. But as a Christian you know idolatry is a sin, and you refusing to acknowledge Kirks racist ideologies is worrisome.

I've never idolized Kirk. My idols in my life are my parents, my martial arts instructor, and my barber. Kirk, from everything I saw of him, was a good man and I genuinely believe he was not in any way racist. I may not be able to convince you of that, but I hope you can at least respect that myself and so many others see it that way. No one is celebrating racism when they celebrate the life he led. I genuinely believe that.
