I feel the need to stress the importance that there were two shooters, one of which was not born in Australia but immigrated in 1998. Which to the educated, proves immigration status is meaningless to crime statistics, but ofc not everyone is educated. Just making sure we aren’t spreading misinformation in either direction here

Immigrants are not the problem. That’s a gross overstatement and anyone who agrees with it is bigoted. Mass immigration is a problem, not immigration of itself

I commend their bravery. May they rest in peace. These two look like they were immigrants as well, or descendants of immigrants, no? Certainly not of Western European descent

I was never arguing against immigration or even suggesting it needs to only be white Eastern Europeans. But people that have a problem with selective immigration cannot be surprised when things like this happen, there needs to be an acknowledgment when there's higher-risk places of origin
