Your point is kind of truthful and kind of not. Yes, small arms aren’t going to do shit against tanks, but small arms aren’t the #1 determiner of conflict outcomes. The one problematic issue with that thinking is more or less thinking that there would be one cohesive governmental force in the US…there most likely wouldn’t be. Our shit would be pretty messy compared to a lot of other wars in the past. Would definitely be messier than the 1st civil war.

That Civil War journalist movie did an okayish attempt at drawing battle lines. You essentially had not just 2 sides that was then US Federal government vs the people, it would be collections of states with power that would be economic powerhouses or military bases as well as 3-4 different sides. Think how messy politics is now and the different divisions in intra-party politics. would be that on crack

The main point is that if the entire populace is against the government to the end, if the government kills all its people it’s not a country anymore
