Conservatives hate on California for their homeless population, but also hate on taxing the rich to fix homelessness. How the hell do they want it fixed?

Unironically they want the homeless to just pull themselves up by their bootstraps. They have literally no answer other than “they need to stop being addicted/lazy/greedy and just get a job”.

The rich are already taxed - the issue is that California is literally a liberal bastion. One the most liberal Democrat strongholds in the country - and they’ve run their cities into the ground. Talking about taxing the rich is literally just distracting from the issues that are actually causing San Fran and LA to implode.

Stop giving homeless people free free shit with zero enforcement. Stop electing soft-on-crime prosecutors. Liberals love to point to Portugal for their homeless program - but forget that these policies need to actually be enforced.

Yes - my solution is more nuanced than that, but ultimately you can’t keep responding with exclusively sympathy and good vibes, expecting homeless to change while offering them money, free needles, etc to keep doing what they’re doing.

No matter what idiot someone has to pay and it’s ALWAYS us. It hasn’t worked for 40 years something has to give, I’m not saying CA knows what it’s doing but your taxes are still going to programs no matter what. Personally would rather pay for a blanket for someone with my taxpayer dollars than housing them in private/public prisons/incarceration centers.
