Hahaha . This is not Iraq. This is not an Al-Qaeda cell. This is a fully realized state. The United States has already lost its control over the Persian Gulf. Every week this war continues the United States is hemorrhaging money. The only reason the US is as powerful as it is is because our military is viewed as strong enough to force the rest of the world to use the Petro dollar. But apparently they’re not. Now The entire future of the world smells blood in the water, and they’re right.

Like, one of the most stable countries in the region, as of 2002. That shit was about as fully realized as it gets. Which is why it became such a quagmire when we did a stupid decapitation strike and forgot the part where we do any planning on what the actual objective is, and with no objective, there’s no win-condition, making victory utterly impossible.
