And also nasty foods like beans and tuna on potatoes, annoying accents, very little modern cultural/entertainment contributions, high red tape and barriers to entry for starting businesses, high taxes, government regulated online speech, mandatory annual license fees for TV, etc. I’d keep my freedoms over more sick time at work any day of the week.
Freedom to not have to pay a £180 tv license fee every year? Freedom to shoot fireworks and own guns? Freedom to choose my healthcare providers and insurers? Freedom of choices across everything (more food options in the US)? Freedom of speech? They don’t even have freedom of speech online in the UK. Why do you want to live in a surveillance state where the government decides what you’re allowed to say online? Would you like it if Trump said criticizing him is illegal and inciting violence?
Everyone gotta do what’s right for themselves. If you can stomach the trade off of eating tuna paste with beans and potatoes to get healthcare, fine by me. I’d never though. I hate their culture/government too much. How much healthcare do you realistically need? You’ve mentioned it multiple times, so you have a preexisting condition or something else that’s making it hard to get insurance in the US?
Dawg if they cover long term care for my mom I am moving to fucking Ukraine. This country has abandoned its taxpayers and expects you to pay 10k a month after an Alzheimer’s diagnosis to some company. All money saved over a lifetime, gone. GDP doesn’t mean shit here when one diagnosis destroys it all
I agree that the current health billing system is outrageous. I’ve gotten charged $125 to take a flu test. A scan of my balls when I thought I had a testicular torsion was over $400. The AMA and hospital billing needs to be reformed, we agree there. There needs to be an in depth review of the entire business of hospitals and providers and billing practices. I’m sorry for the stress and financial strain your mom’s diagnosis has brought.
