trump isn’t even political to me. if someone likes trump i view it like a mental health issue not a political belief.

Yep it's a cult. No amount of reason can undo the brainwashing, they need professional help.

It’s not a coincidence with psychotic disorders or neurological disorders that, as the mental health of the individual deteriorates, they become more reactionary. You’ll rarely hear stories of people with dementia for example becoming socialists or progressives, they just turn into racist Fox News boomers. Conservatism is a mental illness in a way

using mentally ill people as a scapegoat to avoid confronting your disagreements is… a choice. i’m no trump supporter but you need to come to terms with the fact that people disagree with you and you need to approach them with logic

Hitler (from what I hear not my beliefs at all) was actually pretty charismatic tho so that’s how he amassed so many followers. Trump is just a nut job

He’s good at sounding convincing sometimes though (it’s REALLY rare now)

Trump does also have a cult of personality, just not in the same way. Hitler was charismatic in that he acted like an everyday guy rather than a politician and told the people what they want to hear. Trump’s cult of personality comes from MAGA’s extreme beliefs. So when he says and does fucking ridiculous things, it’s actually appealing to them. Although he also has the Everyman persona (despite being a corrupt businessman that shares nothing in common with lay people.)
