Did they loosen gambling ad restrictions back when they opened up sports betting? Idk if it’s just because I’m older now and getting targeted ads for it or if it’s related to sports betting but I never saw as many ads before then

I’m not downvoting, but I don’t agree. Are you willing to make all fast dopamine illegal? If gambling is predatory, so are video games and social media. The addiction mechanisms with these are all internal and a result of evolution.

I do think people should be allowed to sue, if they lose family members to suicide because of stuff like this, because that suggests a lack of agency that is indisputable, and almost impossible to legally abuse, but I don’t think a government should be allowed to make that decision for you.

Cognitive externalities should be a legal matter that incur loss for corporations so that shareholders want safer products. If someone in law can take this up to the Supreme Court, it would be so beneficial to the children of our nation.
