I want to note that china’s oppression, mass internment, and cultural genocide of the Uyghurs isn’t motivated by them being Muslim, the Hui Muslims (historically loyal to the Chinese state) are treated well by the government. It’s instead because the Uyghurs have an ethnic separatist movement. It’s a brutal crackdown on an ethnic group that happens to be Muslim, not a crackdown on all Muslims.
