I’ve actually not had one single person who is both intelligent and good at their job tell me I need to start using AI. It’s always dumbass mfers who have no talent who say I need to start using AI… funny how that works

i fear that’s not true it’s like higher ups in hella industries saying it to bc it’s not going away so knowing how it works is a good idea. not that you should suddenly use it for everything just now how to make it most efficient

The “speeding up” is people just skipping over the thinking. Prompt, Answer, Proceed as if it’s an errorless magic entity. It’s not a good thing

As someone fluent in both Clojure and Python it’s been amazing for debugging and unit testing. Cuts down on literally days of boilerplate shit

Idek why people are downvoting this. Sometimes it’s a godsend with the amount of legacy Java I’m working with where half the documentation is on websites that no longer exist. Other times it’s shitty and will hallucinate the names of libraries that don’t exist. People are so tribal about AI 😭

Sometimes we really don’t care about the thinking. Sometimes something needs to be fixed ASAP, and it’s way too much trouble to try to find the root cause (which is sometimes not fixable) for something you’ll never see again

“Proceeding as if it’s an errorless magic entity” is user error. I always look over what it says and investigate further if it doesn’t look right
