Finding “the” issue to run on is the difficult part. It’s not simply what you or I want. Biden’s was bipartisanship. Can’t really run on vengeance, despite how badly the Dem base probably wants it.

Yeah, if I had to suggest something, focusing on the high cost of housing, healthcare, and everyday goods to rebuild trust with working-class voters of all demographics while emphasizing job creation, worker rights, and taxing the wealthy should be a core component Another should be focusing on protecting voting rights and democratic norms, emphasizing judicial appointments and constitutional checks and balances, framing the 2028 election as massive, etc.
