because he most likely was naturalized or is a citizen. I haven’t seen a single outlet, aside from the fucking New York post, describe the man as a non-documented immigrant (get the term right if you want to have these convos). he was apparently originally from Honduras, but I haven’t found any info that indicates that he doesn’t have legal status. who says he’s a migrant, aside from the fucking New York post (or fox, if I missed that) he was FROM Honduras, but that does not make him a migrant. He could’ve been naturalized for all we know, but you *white supremacists* use the limited instances of shit like this as a weapon against the entire immigration community, both documented and undocumented.

correction: it does not mean he’s currently an immigrant. Technically sure, he’s a migrant, but literally everyone in this nation is, or descends from, migrants to this land. it’s a bit of a moot point, but it’s succeeding in triggering the emotional response it intended for in certain people (aka you, OP)
