
Not only is it impossible to train them on such short notice, but they’re way too stupid. I don’t see airports or airlines being on board with it. They’re not trained and people are scared of them. The airline lobby is powerful and they’re already pissed about this war, but they’re scraping by because demand is still strong. If anything hurts demand (and having ICE do actual security screening could), the airlines would be banging down the White House door
A bit surprised. Like a 6 or 7. They showed up at maybe half of what I’d consider “major airports” (I’m seeing conflicting reports about PHL). I have zero clue what they’re doing at airports like PIT and RSW. But I don’t see anything about them doing any screening, as I expected. Now that oil prices have (momentarily) fallen, maybe the airlines are a bit more relaxed, but idk how long they’ll stay below $100 and I’m sure the airlines know better than I do about that
