U.S. Constitution is fine to be reinterpreted to modern times. No way did they anticipate birth tourism being a thing which needs to end.

It needs to be removed for people whose parents come here illegally. That’s my issue with it. There is literally a tourism industry here where women who are pregnant come here to have a kid so that their kid will be a US citizen so they can argue that they need to be here for their “citizen” infant.

Actually it’s the job of the courts or interpret the constitution. So you don’t need a constitutional amendment but you could do it that way

And it’s the courts job to interpret that. I really don’t see what the issue is with stopping that rule from being abused. Anticipating that kind of abuse of a rule is hard to anticipate.

It also says that you have the right to freedom of speech but I will still go to jail if I decide I’m going to call in a bomb threat to a school because a court ruled that is not protected by the first amendment.

“Cuz that’s what it says” what is it with you people and thinking the U.S. Constitution is some infallible document that can’t be reinterpreted as society deems it necessary. Not to mention CA is straight up ignoring the 2A but I don’t see the left in arms over that.
