I googled it and yeah the pneumonic form they got does spread person-to-person, but the bubonic form we all think of when we hear “plague” generally doesn’t transmit easily from human-human, and the reason it was such a problem in the middle ages was because they had no damn hygiene and mfs had fleas

yes, communal fleas from community oriented humans I think it's still half valid to say by its spread by human(+rodents) close proximity

Yeah but that’s still not direct human to human transmission, the vast majority of that spread requires animal vectors that people today have way less contact with

Also pneumonic plague does spread person to person and does not require fleas to transmit it
