I’m not really depressed or even that much a leftist to begin with. I’m far more milquetoast compared to some of the people on here

If we’re being realistic more people have homes, are fed, have water now than ever before and that’s just the truth

Jarvis pull up US Census Bureau on homelessness, notice how the per capita has fluctuated up and down since the 1870s but the population of the US has only gone up, meaning there are both more homeless and more homeowners than ever

I’m pretty sure national homeownership rate has actually historically declined since the great recession and it’s tapered off but let me see if I can find a source for that

You’re right but tbh it felt weird saying “homeless and homefull” people

Mate he’s still the governor 💀

AnonymousOP6w
Regardless, it’s pretty bad that the homeownership rate is decreasing, especially as big corporations keep buying up houses preventing the middle class from owning owning their own homes

I agree 100%. The main purpose of me making this post is I think that celebrating the positives are just as important as fighting for justice especially in the mental health crisis we have in America, we take so many things for granted

Even when everything is perfect, the brain is wired to find something out of place so there will always be things to be upset about

Things aren’t perfect.

Being upset that we don’t live in a utopia is futile

AnonymousOP6w
Being upset that people are being kidnapped off the streets and losing their rights is just human decency.

So we should just give up instead of trying to make stuff better? We should just surrender and say “well! Good enough!”

I’m very glad that you’re content, but as of right now, the country is difficult for other people, and we will continue to be upset about it.

People will always have trial and tribulations, if we let that effect our emotions we’ll never be happy
0
AnonymousOP6w
Things are significantly worse now than they have been in a while, I think a change in emotion makes sense.

AnonymousOP6w
I think people worrying, especially about immigrants and trans people, is justified.
3
Anonymous#16w
I agree, it is justified. I think that saying things are significantly worse will just lead to a big debate, we just lived through an epidemic less than a decade ago so imo things are not “significantly” worse but probably worse because Trump.

I’m trans and queer and my life is harder. Life is harder for my Hispanic friends. My other trans friends are suffering and my queer friends are worried about marriage.
