This would effectively drive Tesla out of Canada bc BYD undercuts them by tens of thousands of dollars for the same if not better range

This is just the beginning. He is scaring the shit out of countries that have always looked to us for stability and to be the big man in the room. Now they’re looking elsewhere. Like what happened when Ukraine got fucked over by their daddy Russia

Its only 49k cars which is less that 3% of their new car market, I don’t think it’s that huge of a deal for today but if it goes on it could be

3% also happens to be the same percent of cars that Tesla sells. Its a disaster for them

A bit of context, gained from looking into what #3 said about Tesla: Their sales only account for 7.8% of new car sales in Canada. So this is still massively, massively disruptive

Unfortunately you would have to export the car from Canada and import it to the US which is OBSCENELY expensive Source: I recently moved to Canada and exported/imported my car. It was hell but worth it
