as an indian it was not institutionalized by the british and it actually exists across the radcliffe line and it’s not unique to hinduism. it’s a regressive social order. just because it got calcified as the british raj incorporated the peripheries into the market economy and did primitive accumulation doesn’t mean they wrote the Rigveda, Manusmriti, or other Dharmaśāstra texts. this person is reductive and Spivak wrote about these activists’ harm in “Can the Subaltern Speak?”

that still does not justify your ignorance, even though Spivak warns that when western pseudo/intellectuals use broad frameworks to represent others, they often commit epistemic violence by oversimplifying complex material conditions into academic vernacular, effacing the differences, thereby effectively domesticating the subject by turning a real struggle into a mere perspective that can be easily ignored by global capital.

no it’s israel. india has a unique geopolitical materiality. israel is a better example of a successor to cecil rhodes, smuts, lebensraum and manifest destiny theorists. this is a structurally reactionary comparison and fundamentally misunderstands the majoritarianism in India.
