What a loaded question. How do we KNOW what works and doesn’t without learning from history? Even that aside, history will have consequences on the future even without directly addressing it. Saying historians shouldn’t have input on a very historically implicated topic is like saying why involve historians when making any decisions. Especially when it’s a discussion about the freaking constitution, a historical document heavily debated
