Even if by some miracle the Dems take control of both chambers in November I highly doubt they’re going to be competent or organized enough to stop Trump from being a literal dictator

Agreed, Schumer and Jeffries will literally help him do it in the name of “compromise” and bipartisanship

Well, considering the absolute best case for the Senate (which includes things like Talarico winning, Alaska and Maine flipping, etc. which will not all happen) is a 52 Dem majority, best guess is you’re still actually going to have to blame Republicans for the things Republicans are doing. It’s hard to set the blame at the feet of a powerless opposition party but I’m sure you disgusting commie bitches will figure a way.

They’ll let Trump do whatever he wants and say some shit like “when your enemy is making a mistake don’t interrupt him”

I think we’ll be able to stop some things or hold some people accountable by making them testify in Congress, subpoenaing records and witnesses, etc. But ultimately, a decent bit of this could happen regardless of what Congress says imo

Unfortunately for us the dems are mostly massive cowards I been saying for years we need to get serious 😭

They should be issuing subpoenas and articles of impeachment every day. Even if they can’t stop much, they should be working 24/7 to expose this administration in any way they can, and promising radical action if they win. Instead they’re doing literally nothing 😭

A 52-seat majority is not “powerless opposition”

1. That is the best case scenario, which will not happen. 2. That is not a filibuster proof margin. It is not even a guarantee that you can pass with suspended filibuster rules with Fetterman, who progressives shoved down our throats only to have him stroke out and immediately become conservative. Surely the guy in Maine who got booted out of the USMC over a Nazi tattoo is gonna be different. In any case, no guarantee of anything getting through the Senate unless Republican leadership allows it.

3. Lest you forget, there is still a fascist with frontotemporal dementia in the White House who will veto anything that his advisors tell him to. The best any Senate majority can do until 2028 is lock Fetterman in a closet somewhere so he doesn’t prevent them from blocking judicial appointees, being ruthless on oversight, subpoenaing admin officials and arresting the ones who don’t show up.

You can remove the filibuster with a simple majority, then the dems could do whatever they wanted.

We don’t have control of the committees rn. The majority in the chamber gets to control the committees of that chamber
