The party is eating itself alive and there’s no way out of it. If Trump releases the files unredacted, he’s a clear pedo. If the files are redacted, that looks fucking sus. And the republicans have tied themselves to him so much over the past decade that he’s become a ball & chain around their leg that can’t be gotten rid of

Mind you, this often takes YEARS, if not DECADES for other nations to get to this point because Fascism is difficult to get rid of, and we’ve reached this point in a matter of months. The resistance against Fascism is on track to win, Democracy is what’s inevitable here, and we need to keep fighting for what’s right.

He still will do damage, don’t get me wrong, but I think he’s entering a lame duck phase where he just won’t get much done as he fades away after the presidency

Absolutely – his days in office are not infinite, and the Midterms are less than a year away. He’s going to do damage that will take time to repair, but what matters is that we keep fighting so that we can make things right.

My best guess is that the files only make things worse for him, he becomes more unhinged in 2026 but the republicans loose in a landslide, and then 2027-28 he gets nothing done with a heavily blue Congress

I think that’s a realistic view of what’ll probably happen. He’s not gonna be able to escape high propensity voters now going blue as well as disillusioned independents rallying against him en masse. Not to mention, they can’t gaslight people about the economy when people are only seeing their costs go up while their wages don’t meet those rising costs.
