I want to spread some positivity and find some common ground. Tell me a SMALL hot take you have where you disagree with others in your party. I’ll go first. I’m Republican. That essay from that girl at Oklahoma was one of the worst things I’ve ever read

Leftist There are in fact some leftists who can’t take a joke. Like if the punchline is just “haha rape is funny” or something yeah that’s barely even a joke, you’re just an asshole. But I’ve seen even moderately edgy humor get dogged on by people who are too focused on morally grandstanding about something

I’m a democratic socialist but in practice I’m basically a democrat. Rural regions are important and have very valuable culture and should not be treated as inferior or ridiculed. A whole lotta libs and lefties can be bizarrely classist so long as it’s against rural areas or the south. I’m from southern Virginia that probably informs this.

I’m a registered independent but lean left. The Democratic Party often goes back on their words or change their policies based upon what their voters are mad about at the time only to go back to their original one once the fire has gone down

Every culture has some negative aspects and positive aspects. The negative aspects don’t negate or erase the positives. It’s bizarre how progressive people can understand that with immigrant communities but not about rural or southern Americans

Ironically I would also argue that for Republicans as well. The “fuck your feelings” crowd sure gets their panties in a wad when someone makes fun of Trump
