To absolutely nobody's surprise, Palantir is backing the widespread manufacturing surveillance movement. If you live in CA you should be against this and tell your legislators

Furthermore the "issue" that they are trying to claim they would be able to solve isn't realistic. There are plenty of gun components that share geometry with legitimate non firearms mechanical components, so the AI would have to be able to read your mind to determine your intent and predict the future to see if you're making a model/unfinished gun or an actual firearm intended to function.

As soon as this software is released to the public I will be printing a gun on there, and I seriously doubt that it will be able to stop me from doing so.
