In this day and age, being anti-surveillance is arguably the most important stance you can have. He also is pro-environment. Being anti-surveillance is indirectly being anti-ICE

You realize that in his district, he literally has to campaign that way for the GOP primary to win right? Many Republicans across the country in deep red areas do this. Brian Kemp, the gov of GA notoriously did this and flipped the second he won the Republican nomination.

He votes party line like 80% of the time though. And I say this as someone who respects him for his criticism towards the handling of the Epstein files and Israel

I mean if you refrained from voting for Trump I’d get it. If you voted for Trump, I don’t get what’s so much worse about newsom than him, other than what side of the political state he’s on
