For a depressive episode, it’s really not. Bad episodes can last years. I’d agree there may be a point where being incapacitated that long should require a special election, but like specifically for public service rather than life in general

Yea I mean as far as missing work goes. I understand how bad this can be but there’s gotta be some limit here for getting someone to step in

I do think there’s gotta be some protections for the average person. Like if you have an episode that forces you out of your old job, what company is going to want to hire you when you’re ready to come back? They’ll just see the liability. Which would make life way harder for those people, worsening their conditions further
