Why Kratom is legal but weed/psychedelics are not is something I will never understand
Kratom should be banned.

Kratom (unlike its derivatives such as 7OH) is not a very potent drug, and is only commonly used to fight opioid addiction. Making it schedule 1 is like making a more effective form of suboxone schedule 1.

They started selling it at my corner store. Already hearing stories of people coming in to buy more four times a day from the cashiers

There's no good argument in here for why weed and psychedelics should be schedule 1, but imo there is a good argument as to why unprocessed Kratom shouldn't be

I don’t think Kratom should be available for recreational use. It’s still a bit too addictive and not widely understood yet. Maybe it could be used as a medical treatment for opioid addiction, but that would require more research

Maybe you could say that about its derivatives, but imo Kratom itself is too weak to be anywhere near as addictive as what you would take it to get off of.

The issue is that it’s marketed in products like Feel Free as an alcohol alternative. Unsuspecting people take it and it ends up being a very steep slope. My dad is a recovering alcoholic, and he also likes natural remedies and tries to keep up with trends. Even though he has a pretty good head on his shoulders, I could see him falling victim to deceptive marketing. It also doesn’t help that gas stations and smoke shops all aggressively started promoting FF when word got out that it’s addictive

The Kava in feel free is a whole lot more dangerous than the Kratom

Even still, neither is as dangerous as alcohol.

Their response to finding out ppl get addicted is to market it and cling onto it as a cash cow. CUSTOM FUCKING NEON SIGNS PROMOTING IT IN MY CITY WHICH NEARLY COLLAPSED FROM OPIOIDS.

If it’s an effective treatment for opioids then it should be prescription only and not just able to grab from gas stations

It should be clear to you that restricting availability isn't the most effective means of getting people to use this instead of illegal drugs

I guess that’s fair
