Yeah and although it made some pretty sick art it also encouraged racial and religious division, established a system of control that was based on fear, superstition and blind trust, and justified… how many genocides now? We have science now guys, maybe it’s time to move on from willful ignorance based on some culture’s myth and conquest stories from thousands of years ago
It supports my point in that by the time we literally forget an entire era of people’s identities to the point where different sects of the religion believe he was different things or people, maybe it’s time to give up the fucking ghost and find an idea not based on desert-faith civilization
For example, the most racist motherfuckers I know call Jesus “the messiah.” Because that’s DEFINITELY and English word, and what we’d call a ripped white americanized Jesus. We’ve lost the plot completely. All sides are entangled and no one has any proof one way or another of any of their beliefs.
Let me clarify it as clear as I can. If you don’t have proof of someone’s existence aside from the leaders of the group that propagates the belief INSISTING that it’s true because of a book without a verifiable author/authors, and we literally don’t have any proof that ANYONE existed then, why are we still killing each other? Unless you can point out the Romans or Jews or whoever that killed Jesus, by name, by face, justifying violence and hate for his murder is just racism without foundation.
FURTHERMORE: if you actually listened to the teachings of the man you so deify through Christianity, you wouldn’t need to propagate this idea of someone being at fault. The whole point of his supposed death was to show us what we do wrong, and teach us a better way to live so we CAN go to heaven. Pointing the finger is unfounded and ignorant, just like following the faith overall. If your morals only exist because you’d be punished otherwise, maybe your morals are fucking outdated
