president ever. I just miss what my parents were before they got so badly brainwashed by Fox. I used to flip between Fox and CNN to get both narratives on political news so that I could form my own opinion on if, but Fox has become so blatantly horrible that it just isn’t even watchable anymore. CNN has also moved to the middle, so they’re pretty reliable on their own now.

:(. I’m not even liberal that’s the worst part. I had always been a Republican leaning person who just hates Trump but they’ve been brainwashed into believing that any dissent to Trump = communist. They genuinely think that any election Republicans lose is rigged. They think the Epstein Files, Inflation, Unemployment, and EVEN GAS PRICES are fake news. They genuinely think Iran is building nukes. It’s terrible.

I can’t even begin to imagine how it must feel to witness that decline that’s terrible. The fear mongering and dismissing always feels fake but it sucks to see it firsthand and know they fully believe it

I mean it is different, but it also isn't. They're people experiencing life for the first time too. Sure, they should know better, but everyone is susceptible to these things (even us!). This phenomenon is going to change in a few years like they have this cult mentality and once the cult leader dies... it's never the same... when he's out of office, no one has the same... no one is Trump to them, so no one can replace or replicate how theyre feeling about him

as much as I understand and even partially agree w your sentiment, I come from a similar scenario as OP and it’s important to remember the psychology of cults in these types of conversations. ultimately, what’s happening amongst the maga base is they’re being conditioned into a cult, one with roots in religion, politics, and the idea of racial supremacy. the overwhelming majority of them will need genuine reconditioning and educational resources in order to break the chain.

Well my parents aren’t racist at all. They just don’t believe that Trump is. One of the hardest parts for me as a Catholic was when Trump attacked the pope and my parents, who raised me to be Catholic, sided with Trump over the Pope

I meant to include this. I did show them this multiple times. They don’t care, they think it’s fake news. They have no media literacy to see that Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters and Laura Ingraham and all them are just media personalities saying what they’re told to say for a paycheck. Guarantee they don’t even believe 90% of the shit they spew out.
