Here’s my crackheaded nomination: Jon Stewart. He is controversial. And he has some skin in the game with political activism outside of being one charming SOB on The Daily Show.

Yeah. Total pipe dream. It’s the foolish idea of fighting firebrand with firebrand. The only part of it with grounding is that he’d be much more likable for people than Newsom. Which isn’t saying much and doesn’t mean for good outcome. But as things stand, optics and confidence matter.
