Is anyone else noticing a rise for support for Stephen King on social media? I’ve seen a lot of people covering for his behavior lately and I’m concerned that’s going to become the next thing that gets wrongly criticized as purity testing.

I mean he has a really bad track record of sexualizing young kids (not just the scene in IT, but that’s a prominent example), he defended Harris on the genocide in Gaza, and he defended Trump on the Epstein files. All totally unprompted mind you. The guy is creepy and deeply anti-progressive despite having a reputation as one of the “good guys” somehow.

Fascinating - I do remember reading IT and wondering wtf he was smoking when he wrote *that* scene, but the his political commentary is news to me lmao I’ll have to look into it
