This is a wonderful watch and I think it describes a lot of issues on the left side of things perfectly. Especially this idea of alienating people out of the left, now a days the right is the party that will come to your aid/accept you and that’s not the way it should be

The infighting was step 2 of the fascist plan, but it relied on a step 1: creating controlled opposition. Economically (which at the end of the day is all of the policy that matters) the republicans and democrats are no different. This is the root of all the infighting. And it’s all because of the lobbying groups. The infighting is necessary and it was created intentionally by the fascist supporters.

thats a great way of wording it, that the right is trying to position themselves as the party that will “come to your aid”. we as the left need to be more accepting of imperfect people who at least want to be good

This rhetoric implies that democrats didn’t pass the inflation reduction act and republicans aren’t responsible for the majority of US recessions and increase in debt. Democrats are largely better from a long-term economic standpoint. Just because they’re not perfect doesn’t mean they’re the same as republicans

Infighting is required for fascism to take root (see rise of Nazis) so lobbyists and big billionaires spend enough money in politics to ensure that they get their way no matter what, which leads to infighting on the left as people believe their politicians are not doing anything to help them. This allows fascism to take hold.

When you measure how an economy is doing by GDP and debt and not by unemployment and poverty rate you have already lost the plot. The economy isn’t just the toy of some rich people being controlled by the suits in DC, it’s literal life or death for most people.
